Below are some top news stories of the day, involving WWE and Tony Khan.
• During an interview with Buzzfeed Celeb, Batista aka Dave Bautista noted that he would still be in WWE if it wasn’t for acting:
“I would still be involved with WWE, I hope. Because I really loved it. It wasn’t that I ever wanted to not be a part of that universe because I love the WWE Universe.
It was just that I became so passionate about acting, and I’m still pursuing it with everything I have, but I still love that world.
I have a good relationship with the company. I hope that they would always leave the door open for me because I just love professional wrestling.”
Batista officially retired from pro-wrestling at WrestleMania 35 in 2019.

• AEW has signed several former WWE stars over the years, but Matt Riddle is unlikely to join the promotion. Riddle has been working for various promotions like MLW, NJPW, and independent events, though he believes a WWE return is possible.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated, Riddle shared details about his awkward conversation with AEW President Tony Khan:
“I talked to Tony. I don’t know if he likes me. He seemed happy. I wrestled Zack Sabre Jr. in Chicago. He seemed cool about it. I don’t know. When you meet me, I’m very sarcastic. But when I met him, I was like, ‘Oh, you like that match?’ But I said it a different way, and he looked at me all confused. And I was like, ‘Never mind, dude’. I just walked away. So that was my experience with that.”
Fightful Select reports that Khan has not shown any interest in bringing Riddle to All Elite Wrestling in recent years. AEW talent rarely works with Riddle on the independent scene, except in Mexico.
Meanwhile, TNA is reportedly interested in getting Riddle to appear for them, as he currently has no contracts with MLW or NJPW.
