• “How do you feel about kissing him?” – Vince McMahon To Nia Jax On Nixed Love Triangle Storyline
At WrestleMania 34 in 2018, Nia Jax defeated Alexa Bliss to win the RAW Women’s Championship.
If you remember, there was a romantic angle teased between Nia and former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore. This was originally scheduled to turn into a love triangle including Alexa, which would’ve led to Enzo being the special guest referee for the Nia – Alexa match at WrestleMania.
However, WWE was forced to drop this plan when rape allegations were made against Enzo in January 2018 (on the night of RAW 25) and he was released from the company.
During an interview with Ring The Belle, Nia revealed that Vince McMahon loved this storyline. Below is what she said:
“Man, the Enzo stuff. Oh my gosh (laughs). That was so much fun. It was supposed to go up until I won the title. He was supposed to be a part of that.
So he and I had that little love triangle but Lexi (Alexa Bliss) was supposed to get in on that and he was supposed to be our guest ref at Mania. I mean, supposed to, obviously, things changed but that’s where that was supposed to go.
Isn’t that crazy? And then obviously, things happened, he didn’t make it that far. Vince loved it. That was one of his favorite storylines. I don’t know if you remember, he put me on one of the 205 Live events.
[Vince] loved that storyline. Oh my gosh and then he was like, ‘How do you feel about kissing him?’ I’m like, ‘Huh? If we need to. If that’s where we’re going.’”
