Hulk Hogan Recalls Calling WWE To Tell Them That A Tape Of Him Using The “N-Word” Might Become Public

During an appearance on OBJECTified on FOX News last night, Old School WWF Legend “The Immortal” Hulk Hogan recalled his controversy with Gawker that led to his WWE departure. Below are the highlights:

On calling WWE to tell them that a tape of him using the “N-word” might become public:

“When I heard this was going to happen, I called them on a Thursday or a Friday. As I hung up the phone that night, they fired me in the morning. It really caught me off guard, I didn’t expect it because the WWE knows who I am. I’m not that person, that’s not who I am and that’s not what I do.”

On if he would’ve continued to use the “N-word” if the tape didn’t leak:

“No. I tried to clean up my whole life. I made a whole switch, almost a shift from being negative. I moved forward so I’m in check with myself.

As far as the black community and using that word, it’s not part of who I am now. It’s not part of my language because I understand how powerful words are. You know, growing up in South Tampa where we came from, it was a situation where when you played baseball and basketball and ran around in South Tampa, it was just common knowledge 45 – 50 years ago that people used the term, but it’s not that way anymore.”

Roman Reigns Thanks John Cena In Revealing Locker Room Interview

WWE posted a video titled “Roman Reigns thanks John Cena in revealing locker room interview”. You can watch it below:

Below is what Reigns said about the wrestling business and his place in WWE:

“This company, this business runs through my veins so if I ever choose to do something else, I didn’t hold this place hostage, this really was my home. I gave some of my childhood. I mean, my father was a wrestler, my uncle was a wrestler, countless cousins. Do you know how often I saw my dad?

I’ve made sacrifices since day one in this business and I continue to do it, and I’m not gonna stop even if somebody like John Cena doesn’t want me to be here or doesn’t think I deserve it or wants to keep me down and try to bury me. It’s just not going to happen. There’s not a man on Earth that can stop me from doing what I have to do to take care of mine.”
