Below are some top news stories of the day, involving Hulk Hogan.
• During an interview on the PBD podcast, 2-time WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan explained his decision to leave TNA Wrestling:
“I started working on a show out of Universal Studios called Total Nonstop Action! Wrestling, which was owned by Dixie Carter, with Eric (Bischoff) helping to produce it. I stayed there for about 4 years. They wanted to renew my contract, but by that point, I was done and ready to relax.
It wasn’t that the job was boring — it was just a constant grind. Dixie wanted to compete with Vince (McMahon), so I told her that to do that, we’d need to go live on Monday nights, hit the road, and bring in consistent funding.
Competing with Vince would need an influx of $50, $60, maybe even $70 million just to keep up. For a while, it was exciting, but the financial support didn’t come through, and it no longer made sense to continue. So, after 4 years, when my contract was up, I decided not to renew.
A couple of days later, I was at the Park Meridian Hotel in New York, preparing for a business deal or an appearance when I got a call from Triple H. He said Vince had heard I didn’t re-sign and wanted to talk. After some talks, we agreed on a deal, and I went back.”

• During an appearance on the PBD Podcast, Hulk Hogan shared that he nicknamed Vince McMahon’s private jet “the slave ship” due to the relentless travel schedule.
McMahon frequently flew with his family — usually including Stephanie, Shane, and Triple H — making constant trips between locations, like to Monday Night RAW and back to Connecticut, with little downtime.
Hogan humorously compared the hectic schedule to being trapped on the jet without a break. McMahon also had an unusual rule for those on his plane: no one was allowed to sleep unless he was sleeping.
Some fans may find Hogan’s nickname offensive, and it’s unsurprising that it’s sparked mixed reactions.
Here’s what the Hulkster said:
“Yeah, he was, and he had his family with him. He had this monster — I called it ‘the slave ship’ — because, oh, just fly with me to Monday Night RAW. He wouldn’t let you off the plane! Come back to Connecticut, go here with me, go there.
I used to tease him; I’d call it the ‘slave ship’ because, you know, he had his family on there. He had his daughter with him, Shane was on the plane a lot, and his son-in-law was there too. So, he was traveling with his whole family, and it was like, why go home? Let’s just keep working!”
