Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Hulk Hogan and Cody Rhodes.
• Tomorrow is going to be the 40th anniversary of Hulk Hogan winning the WWF Championship for the first time ever, when he defeated The Iron Sheik at Madison Square Garden.
WWE aired a video package for 40 years of Hulkamania on tonight’s RAW.
Also on RAW, WWE aired exclusive footage of the Hulkster talking about this Saturday’s Royal Rumble premium live event.
Hogan put over superstars like Becky Lynch, Bayley, Cody Rhodes & CM Punk as the potential winners of the Women’s & Men’s matches this year.
He also talked about how anyone can show up at the Rumble and that it could be him, as he feels he has one more match left in him.
• Cody Rhodes is the cover star of the standard edition of the upcoming WWE 2K24 video game.
He failed to “finish the story” (which is win the WWE Championship) at WrestleMania 39, and he’s hoping to finish it at WrestleMania 40 now.
During an interview with Sports Illustrated, The American Nightmare had the following to say about his story:
“If I haven’t finished the story by WWE 2K25, don’t bring me back for the commercial. Don’t put me on the cover, don’t put me anywhere near it. I won’t deserve it.
But it’s fun that this is happening in real time, and we all get to experience it together.”
