Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Big E and Shelton Benjamin.

• Big E has been out of action for close to 2 years now, due to the neck injury he suffered in March 2022 on SmackDown.

During a new interview with TMZ, Big E was asked about his in-ring return status.

Here’s what the former WWE Champion said:

“I don’t have a timeline, unfortunately, but thank you for asking; I just want to make a smart decision.

I didn’t start wrestling to end up in a wheelchair, so I just want to make sure I’m just making the best decision for myself.”

• After the tag team of Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas ended, Benjamin was sent to RAW.

On the March 29, 2004 episode of RAW, Benjamin picked up a big win over Triple H. They had a rematch next week, which Shelton won via count-out.

During an interview on The Kurt Angle Show, Benjamin discussed the backstory behind his victory over The Game.

Here’s what the former Intercontinental Champion said:

“Basically to fast track me. I don’t think, I don’t know because I didn’t ask questions, I just did what was asked of me; I do know the term ‘fast track’ was used when they were saying I was going to have the match with [Triple H].

I think, at the time, they wanted to create a Black star. Today, there is tons of every color of the rainbow in WWE.

At the time, there was not. There was me, Mark Henry, Ron Simmons, R-Truth was still in TNA. There weren’t a lot, and I was the new guy, and they wanted to create a Black superstar. That much, I do know.”
