• “I didn’t want to cry. I didn’t want to retire” – The Undertaker

The Undertaker had his Final Farewell at Survivor Series 2020, exactly 30 years to the day of his official WWF debut at Survivor Series 1990.

This Farewell took place at the WWE ThunderDome, in front of 0 live fans in attendance due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Majority of the fans weren’t happy with this, but this is exactly what The Deadman wanted.

During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Undertaker said he wouldn’t have been able to control his emotions if fans were there that night:

“Even though I knew I was done, and it was over, like I didn’t want to, I didn’t want to cry, I didn’t want to break down, I was like I was still trying to protect that character.

And I was like, man, if I’m out here in front of a live audience, I mean you saw how hard of a time I had at the Hall of Fame, and that’s another year or two later, I would have been a wreck, man. Because I didn’t, I didn’t want to retire.”
