In the Netflix docuseries ‘Mr. McMahon’, various incidents involving wrestling personalities have been highlighted, sparking discussion among fans and experts.
On his podcast, ‘The Hall of Fame’, Booker T focused on two key moments: David Schultz slapping journalist John Stossel and Hulk Hogan’s encounter with talk show host Richard Belzer.
Schultz slapped Stossel during a 1984 expose after the journalist called wrestling “fake.”
Hogan, a year later, placed Belzer in a Front Chinlock on his show ‘Hot Properties’, causing the host to lose consciousness and sustain an injury.
Booker T shared his thoughts on Hogan’s actions, saying, “I think Hulk did the right thing,” but questioned if it was taken too far.
“I think you could put a guy in an Armbar and get your point across,” he said, suggesting that Hogan didn’t need to knock Belzer out.
Regarding Schultz, Booker sympathized with his reaction to Stossel’s approach.
“It was very disrespectful the way John Stossel came up on David Schultz,” Booker stated.
“When you put yourself in a confrontational situation, something might happen. I don’t blame David Schultz at all for what he did.” He added that he might have responded similarly if faced with the same level of disrespect.
