• “I just don’t think it’s the right time” – Former WWF Champion On Rey Mysterio’s Hall Of Fame Induction

This Friday night after WrestleMania SmackDown goes off the air, Rey Mysterio is going to headline the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2023.

On the latest episode of his podcast, former WWF Champion Kurt Angle had the following to say about the Hall of Fame induction of his SummerSlam 2002 opponent:

“I’m so happy for him. I’m surprised that, you know what, I’m not surprised they are not doing it when he retires.

But, you know, I think Rey being inducted into the Hall of Fame this prematurely, I think he deserves it still, I just don’t think it’s the right time.

I think he should get into the Hall of Fame after he retires. But that’s me, and I’m old school, and that’s how I think.

You have to realize this kid’s been wrestling for 30-something years. This Hall of Fame induction was definitely going to happen, whether they did it now or later.”

Kurt was inducted into the Hall of Fame when he returned to WWE in 2017. He wrestled for 2 more years after that.

Rey will complete 34 years in Professional Wrestling on April 30.
