At TNA Turning Point 2007, Samoa Joe went off script and went into business for himself after late WWE Hall of Famer Scott Hall couldn’t show up at the event due to a health related issue.
Joe took shots at TNA, Kevin Nash and asked Dixie Carter to fire him.
2-Time WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash recalled the incident and having a conversation with Joe backstage. He said that he smacked Joe twice. Joe didn’t respond to Nash getting physical as he realized his mistake and apologized the next day.
Below is what Nash said on his podcast:
“At that point, Joe and I were friends. And I understood his f**king disappointment and frustration over the fact that Scott no-showed.
I walked up to him and asked him, ‘What the f**k was that? Was that from [Vince] Russo or yours?’ He smirked and said, ‘That was mine’.
So I f**king open-hand smacked him. He didn’t go down, but he didn’t say anything back either, so I smacked him again. And he just looked at me.
Joe felt so bad about it that he went in front of all the boys and apologized — directly to me. He didn’t have to do that. But he was man enough to f**king realize that, ‘I did go into business for myself’.”
