Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Vince McMahon, The Rock and Cody Rhodes.

• During an interview with Cageside Seats, UFC Hall of Famer Ronda Rousey had the following to say about working for Vince McMahon:

“I just didn’t wanna be Vince’s action f**king figure anymore. I felt like I was doing custom matches for a f**king sicko in the back. All power to the girls that keep fighting the good fight. But I’m in my mid-30’s now. I’ve got sh*t to do.”

After Vince resigned from all his positions from TKO in January 2024 (after already announcing his retirement in 2022), Ronda posted a tweet claiming that Vince wasn’t really gone the first time and was calling running the show through Bruce Prichard.

Rousey said the following about Vince resignation:

“My agent who works at WME (Endeavor), he was telling me, ‘You know, he’s completely gone now, I swear’. And I’m like, I’ll believe it when I see it, because everyone said he left before. He never left. He was there by text message.”

• In the opening segment of RAW, Cody Rhodes expressed his admiration for Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns but acknowledged him as the individual who thwarted his aspirations last year, leading to a strong disdain towards him.

The Rock made a surprise appearance in the ring, said something to Cody and left. Cody looked confused.

Later in the show, Cody was asked what The Rock said to him. Cody said it’s something he can’t repeat, but it was a promise that The Rock can’t keep.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Rock whispered the following to Cody:

“Tonight, I’m going to make you bleed.”

Rock did make Cody bleed at the end of RAW.
