Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Kevin Nash and Gable Steveson.
• Kevin Nash recently hurt his shoulder and is set to undergo surgery. On his Kliq This podcast, Nash gave an update on what the doctor told him:
“He showed me a pretty decent bone spur on the end of my humerus. He just said that I have so much arthritis that probably what happened was there was an area that looked like scar tissue that I had broken loose.
I had some cysts and some bone spurs that they cut all the way through so I think that is what split.
I was actually having a hard time pulling up a pair of shorts on my left side, but since I’ve done this, like, the first day I got up, I pulled my underwear on and I was just like, there’s no pain on the back of my shoulder.”
Nash also said the following about his spinal stenosis issues:
“I just talked to the spinal surgeon and they’ll be able to go in, like the size of a McDonald’s straw, and take that piece of bone out. Minimally invasive procedure.
There’s only so much you can do with stenosis with stem cells, but my shoulder right now, it will flourish because all the tendinitis and all that wear and tear, that stem cell will give that a nice (shot).”

• Olympic gold medalist Gable Steveson will return to the University of Minnesota wrestling team for a fifth season after brief stints with WWE and the NFL.
During a press conference, Steveson discussed his decision to return to collegiate wrestling and addressed his release from WWE.
When asked about his time in WWE, Steveson acknowledged the intense competition and explained that the timing wasn’t right for him. However, he left the door open for a future return.
Here’s what the former NXT wrestler said:
“I think the WWE just wasn’t the right time, I had a lot of competitive edge to me, and they knew that, and it was just not the time for it and so maybe one day if the stars align it’ll be a great opportunity to do it again.
I have no bad feelings with it, I have no bad blood with it, and I would like to keep moving forward with everything.”
Steveson only had one televised match in WWE. At NXT The Great American Bash 2023, he faced Baron Corbin. That match ended in a Double Count-Out and fans reacted negatively to it.
He was released by WWE in May 2024, after he didn’t show enough progress in training.
