• “I was very close to passing away in that match” – AEW Wrestler On Blood & Guts 2022
On the June 29th 2022 episode of AEW Dynamite, a Blood & Guts match (AEW’s version of War Games) took place in the main event.
This match saw Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta, Eddie Kingston, Santana & Ortiz defeat The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Daniel Garcia, Matt Menard & Angelo Parker).
During an interview on the Swerve City Podcast, Angelo Parker of Jericho Appreciation Society said he thought he was going to die in this match because of how much blood he lost.
Below is what he said:
“Blood & Guts was crazy, man. I thought I was very close to passing away in that match. I bled so much.
I had stopped bleeding at that point (when he was hanging upside down), finally. And then I started doing that hanging upside down thing, and I’m just looking down and I’m just seeing it pouring out.”
