Braun Strowman is on a mission to make a triumphant return to the ring in WWE after undergoing neck fusion surgery earlier this summer. In a recent interview with News18, Strowman provided fans with a comprehensive update on his recovery and shared his motivations for the upcoming year.
Strowman’s last match, a tag team bout with Ricochet against Alpha Academy on the May 1st episode of RAW, marked the beginning of his hiatus due to neck issues. The subsequent neck fusion surgery, involving cervical fusion on his C4 and C5 vertebrae and the insertion of a metal plate and four screws, was expected to keep him sidelined for the rest of the year. However, the wrestler recently celebrated a significant milestone – receiving medical clearance for weightlifting at his 5-month check-up.
Setting his sights on a strong return, Strowman outlined his goals for 2024.
“I go back after the first year to have another check-up and then get back in the ring, getting back into shape and then getting back to passing these hands out,” he affirmed.
While a potential Royal Rumble return in January remains uncertain, Strowman’s determination to regain his form is unwavering.
The conversation took a poignant turn as Strowman opened up about the late Bray Wyatt, who tragically passed away in August. Expressing deep gratitude, Strowman credited Wyatt for playing a pivotal role in his career and personal development.
Wyatt, according to Strowman, not only taught him the intricacies of wrestling but also guided him on navigating the challenging landscape of the wrestling industry.
Strowman’s admiration for Wyatt was evident as he described him as “one of the greatest human beings that has ever stepped foot on this earth” and someone he aspires to be. The impact of Wyatt’s teachings resonates profoundly with Strowman, who sees his return to WWE not just as a personal triumph but as a tribute to the mentor and friend who left an indelible mark on his life.
The former Universal Champion said the following about his Wyatt Family leader:
“So especially with my return to WWE, I’m not only coming back for me, I’m coming back for him.”
