Braun Strowman debuted in WWE as part of The Wyatt Family in 2015 and was let go six years later. He was then brought back by Triple H in 2022.
After a three-year long run, The Monster Among Men was released earlier this year due to him having a high salary and a history of injuries affecting his leg.
It seems like Braun Strowman is no longer fully focused on pro wrestling. In an interview with Collider, he shared that he is now semi-retired from in-ring competition and is eager to explore a career in acting.
“Even like in our business too, like the wrestling side of things… I say ‘our business,’ I’m semi-retired from wrestling now too because I want to be an actor.
I always have so much admiration for these young and up-and-coming talents that are looking for a shoe in, a place to get in by putting their bodies (on the line), going the extra mile, being the first one to raise their hand, not even knowing what I’m going to do to their poor soul and just going ‘I’ll volunteer for it.’ I was that kid at one point.”
The former Universal Champion said that he wants to play Jason Voorhees in a Friday The 13th movie, and confirmed he has had discussions about it.
“There may be some talks about it with people that I know and my agency. If we could ever get everybody to get back on the same page and allow the things to work, I might be the next Voorhees.”
Next month, USA Network will premiere “Everything On The Menu with Braun Strowman”, a new food-travel series featuring The Monster Among Men. The show is a collaboration with WWE and will showcase Strowman exploring America’s tastiest spots, from casual diners to Michelin-starred restaurants.

John Cena and AJ Styles will battle each other in a singles match after 8 years at the upcoming Crown Jewel Premium Live Event in Perth, Australia, on Saturday, October 11. It will be the final time the two legends go at it.
The highly anticipated match was announced by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H after an exchange between The G.O.A.T and The Phenomenal One on X.
Even though fans are happy with a singles match, WWE Hall of Famer Bubba Ray Dudley thinks Triple H should make a change to it. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, he said that The Miz should be added to make it a Triple-Threat Match.
“I would love to see Miz weasel his way into this match. Because that would pi$$ people off, thus people would wanna see Miz get his a$$ kicked and now you have a dynamic of a heel in the match.”
The A-Lister has a long history with Cena and recently expressed his desire to face the 17-time World Champion during his Retirement Tour. He has been frustrated over the fact that fans haven’t demanded to see him in a match against Cena.

John Cena’s Retirement Tour kicked off in January 2025 and has been one of the biggest storylines in WWE this year. While the tour has had its moments, it’s also been controversial.
Fans were shocked when the Cenation Leader suddenly turned heel at Elimination Chamber by joining forces with The Rock, only for him to flip back to a babyface a couple of months later. The abrupt booking left many fans divided over the direction of the storyline.
On a recent episode of his 83 Weeks podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff gave his take, handing the tour a ‘C’ grade. He said that while the run has had some solid segments, the initial heel turn undermined the overall story.
“If this story (against Brock Lesnar) going forward is a redemption story, I love redemption stories, they always work for me. If it’s not the case, and it was just what they did that night (at Wrestlepalooza), that would be worrisome to me.
I’d give [the Retirement Tour] a C. Now, if you take the heel turn or whatever that was, take that out and just look at the rest of it, probably a B, maybe an A- or a B. It’s been pretty good, except for the way it started.”
John Cena’s next appearance is scheduled for Crown Jewel in Perth, Australia, where he will wrestle AJ Styles in what could be the two legends’ final encounter.
