• “I’m the first man to break Roman Reigns’ winning streak” – SmackDown Star Wants The Undisputed Title
On an episode of SmackDown in 2021, Xavier Woods (who won King Of The Ring that year) defeated Roman Reigns (who was only the Universal Champion at that time) via DQ, after The Usos interfered and beat him up.
This was Roman’s first singles “loss” of his Tribal Chief era. His second singles “loss” was also a DQ, which was to Seth Rollins at Royal Rumble 2022.
During an interview with Whatculture, Woods said he deserves an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match because he was the 1st man to win a singles match against the unstoppable Head of the Table.
Below is what The New Day member said:
“The fact that I won King of the Ring by beating a former Intercontinental Champion in Ricochet, by beating a former Heavyweight Champion in Jinder Mahal, while beating the first-ever Universal Champion in Finn Balor and then going on to defeat each of The Usos in singles competition and then be the only man, sorry because Seth Rollins but we’ll talk about that one but not mine. I’m the first man to break Roman Reigns’ two-year winning streak.”
In the main event of WrestleMania 39, Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes to remain champion. On the other hand, Xavier didn’t have a match at this event.
