On This Day In Pro Wrestling History - January 4, 2010 - WWE Raw vs. TNA Impact Wrestling

• IMPACT Wrestling VP Takes A Shot At WWE RAW

IMPACT Wrestling experienced a higher viewership this week than they usually do due to their partnership with AEW.

The show featured appearances from AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, AEW President Tony Khan and commentator Tony Schiavone.

IMPACT Wrestling Vice President Scott D’Amore took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to praise the partnership between AEW and IMPACT, while taking a shot at WWE RAW at the same time.

Below is what he wrote:

“Well I enjoy watching #AEWDynamite on Wednesday’s anyway so why wouldn’t @IMPACTWRESTLING take @TonyKhan’s & @AEW’s money?

Let the whole world know that after a rotten Monday night you get back 2 back nights of great action starting with #IMPACTonAXSTV every Tuesday night!”

On this day in 2017, we lost Old School WWF/WCW Veteran “The Z-Man” Tom Zenk at the age of 59 due to arterial sclerosis and cardiomegaly.

In the fall of 1986, Tom Zenk joined the World Wrestling Federation with his tag team partner, Rick Martel, as ‘The Can-Am Connection’, but the team didn’t last long as Tom left the promotion in the summer of 1987.

After touring Japan (AJPW) and returning to Verne Gagne’s AWA, Zenk joined Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in September of 1989 and wrestled for the promotion until they let him go in 1994.
