On this day in Pro Wrestling history on July 20, 2014, WWE presented Battleground 2014 PPV from the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa, Florida. The main event of the show was John Cena defending his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Fatal 4 Way match against Randy Orton, Kane & Roman Reigns.

• Indy Wrestler Passes Away At Age 33

Indy wrestler Virgil Flynn has passed due to a stroke. He was 33 years old. He made his wrestling debut at the age of 20.

Virgil wrestled for many indy promotions and won multiple titles. He also worked for WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett’s Global Force Wrestling promotion and made his GFW debut at GFW Amped, where he lost to then IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Kushida.

Virgil also worked GFW’s tournament to crown the first ever GFW NEX*GEN Champion, but lost in the finals of the tournament.
