Below are some top WWE, AEW & IMPACT Wrestling news stories of the day:

– Developmentally Speaking podcast host Brian Asbury has announced that WWE Ruthless Aggression Era Veteran Paul Burchill (age 43) will return to the ring later this year.

He will wrestle at an indy show in Chillicothe, Ohio on September 30. This will be his first match since 2018.

Paul worked for the WWE from 2005 to 2010. While he didn’t win any title in WWE, he held titles in WWE’s then developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling.

He’s a 4-time OVW Heavyweight Champion and a former OVW Southern Tag Team Champion.

After leaving WWE, Paul has worked as a Firefighter and an EMT.

– According to Fightful Select, AEW wrestler “Legit” Leyla Hirsch is expected to return to the ring soon.

She’s been out of action since April 2022 with an ACL injury.

Prior to getting injured, she was getting a push and was in the early stages of her heel run. She defeated Kris Statlander at the AEW Revolution 2022 PPV.

Statlander is the current TBS Women’s Champion, so Leyla could come back and challenge Statlander, since she holds a victory over the current champion.

– Trinity (fka Naomi in WWE) will face Deonna Purrazzo for the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Championship at the Slammiversary 2023 pay-per-view on July 15.

Before that match happens, Trinity & Deonna will team up to take on Savannah Evans & Giselle Shaw at the Against All Odds PPV on June 9.

– IMPACT Wrestling’s 1000th episode will air on September 14.
