Below are some top news stories of the day, involving WWE RAW and WWE House Shows.

• According to PWInsider, NXT wrestler Wes Lee sustained a foot or ankle injury during Monday’s WWE Main Event taping before RAW, with the severity still under evaluation.

This is concerning for NXT fans, as Lee has been a key figure on the brand.

He faced Je’Von Evans on December 10th, competed in the Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline on December 7th, and participated in high-profile matches against Trick Williams, Ethan Page, and Cedric Alexander in November and December.

• Kevin Owens escalated tensions following Saturday Night’s Main Event, where Cody Rhodes retained the WWE Championship against him. After the match, Owens attacked Rhodes with a package piledrivers, leaving Rhodes stretchered out of the arena.

Ahead of WWE’s post-Christmas house show tour, Owens declared on X that he would compete as the true WWE Champion, as he has the Winged Eagle Title with him.

Here’s what KO wrote:

“BALLZ!!!

Now that I have your attention, I have great news for you all!

I am proud to officially announce that I will be competing in my first matches as your new, true WWE Champion on this year’s Holiday loop (that’s a term people in ‘the business’ use that refers to a string of consecutive shows in different cities over a short period of time) starting in Jacksonville on the 26th, followed by 3 more shows in Florida and then one in Detroit for some reason.

Be there to witness history!

Oh, the RAW crew has shows too. Whatever.”
