When it comes to WWE’s biggest events, few names carry the legacy of Hulk Hogan. While many fans remember his WrestleMania moments, what’s often overlooked is Hogan’s flawless track record at SummerSlam. The Hulkster competed in six SummerSlam matches between 1988 and 2006 – and he won every single one of them. That’s right – Hulk Hogan was UNDEFEATED at SummerSlam. Here’s a breakdown of all six of Hulk Hogan’s SummerSlam victories:
1. SummerSlam 1988
Hulk Hogan & “Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. André the Giant & Ted DiBiase (The Mega Bucks)
Result: Hogan and Savage (The Mega Powers) defeated The Mega Bucks
With Jesse Ventura as special guest referee and Miss Elizabeth providing a key distraction, this tag match was a wild and star-studded main event. Hogan hit the leg drop for the win.
2. SummerSlam 1989
Hulk Hogan & Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake vs. Randy Savage & Zeus
Result: Hogan and Beefcake defeated Savage and Zeus
The feud with Zeus (actor Tiny Lister from No Holds Barred) spilled into the WWF, and Hogan once again stood tall, pinning Zeus after a loaded purse shot and leg drop combo.
3. SummerSlam 1990
Hulk Hogan vs. Earthquake
Result: Hogan defeated Earthquake
This was Hogan’s first major singles match at SummerSlam. He kicked out of Earthquake’s devastating finisher and eventually won via count-out after a powerslam through the announce table and a chair shot.
4. SummerSlam 1991
Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior vs. Sgt. Slaughter, Colonel Mustafa & General Adnan (Handicap Match)
Result: Hogan and Warrior defeated the Triangle of Terror
With Sid Justice as special guest referee, Hogan got the win for his team after hitting Slaughter with a fireball-enhanced finish involving a steel chair.
5. SummerSlam 2005
Hulk Hogan vs. Shawn Michaels
Result: Hogan defeated Shawn Michaels
In a dream match between two eras, Hogan overcame a wildly overselling Michaels to pick up a clean victory with the big boot and leg drop in the main event.
6. SummerSlam 2006
Hulk Hogan vs. Randy Orton
Result: Hogan defeated Randy Orton
This was Hogan’s final WWE match. Despite Orton targeting his knee throughout the bout, Hogan delivered one last leg drop to seal a win over The Legend Killer.
With a perfect 6–0 record, Hulk Hogan remained undefeated at SummerSlam. Whether it was tag team chaos or singles showdowns with future Hall of Famers, Hogan always left the biggest party of the summer with his hand raised.
