Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.

• During an interview with Jack Curry of The Yes Network, WWF Legend “The Big Show” Paul Wight was asked about his transition from WWE to AEW.

Here’s what the former World Heavyweight Champion said:

“It’s been fantastic. I was blessed to work for a big company for a lot of years all over the world.

Now, at my stage of the game, to find myself useful in a company that allows me to spread a lot of my knowledge to the younger talent, get a chance to get on the microphone every now and then and enhance them, help their characters along and then get in the ring and mix it up.

It’s probably the single greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I’m blessed, grateful, and thankful for the fans that still like to see me do my thing.”

Wight has only wrestled 6 matches in WWE since joining the company in 2021, with one of them being an untelevised match. He last competed in January on the Jericho Cruise.

Multiple female wrestlers showed support for Maxxine after this.

Here’s what Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley tweeted:

“I really wish that some of you got booed and ridiculed in the public eye while being new at your job. Learning and getting better is all apart of being human. Be better as humans.”

Former AEW Women’s World Champion Britt Baker agreed with Rhea’s statement and responded with a “100” emoji.

Zelina Vega tweeted:

“This is absolutely horrible. She doesn’t deserve that. She’s such a kind soul and works really hard. I would love if the bad parts of the biz don’t harden her heart. They probably just mad cuz they can’t drink your bath water Maxxine.”

On this week’s RAW, Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell defeated Maxxine & Ivy Nile. LeRae bullied Dupri during the match. Here’s what she said to Dupri:

“You know why everyone boos you? You don’t belong here. You think the internet hates you? You should hear what the girls in the locker room say. It’s a good thing your dead brother isn’t here to see what an embarrassment you’ve become.”

Maxxine’s brother Wyatt Zmrzel died in a traffic collision in 2017. He was 22 years old.
