• “I’ve just never been one to kiss a$$” – WWF Legend On Why He Didn’t Have A Storyline Against Hulk Hogan
On the newest episode of his weekly ‘The Snake Pit’ podcast, Old School WWF Legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts claimed that he didn’t have a storyline rivalry against the face of the company, ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan, back in the day because he wasn’t among those wrestlers who kissed Hogan’s a$$.
Here’s what Roberts said about The Hulkster:
“He had his own locker room, and I wasn’t one to intrude on their space. I’ve just never been one to kiss a$$. He had a lot of people around him kissing his a$$, brother. I’m not going to say any names because it’s just not my place to do that.
But we all know, and hell, you couldn’t even get close to him because these guys would block you and all. They didn’t want anybody to ‘get in’ with Hulkster.
‘Hey, I’ll ask the Hulkster. I got this.’ ‘Excuse me, brother, damn, you protect him more than you protect your woman!’. You know, it’s true, man! There were about four, five of them; to this day, he’s still got those guys.”
Jake Roberts started as a heel on WWF TV in 1986, before he turned babyface, but eventually turned back heel in the summer of 1991.
