• “I’ve made mistakes. I’ve owned up to every single one of them and moved on” – Vince McMahon

Vince McMahon appeared on Squawk in the Box with Ari Emmanuel this morning to talk about the sale of WWE.

While they were discussing Vince’s legacy, last year’s hush money scandal and misconduct allegations were brought up.

Vince was asked how that will affect his legacy. Below is what he said:

“I’ve made mistakes, obviously, personally and professionally through my 50-year career. I’ve owned up to every single one of them and then moved on.

I’m not sure of the legacy stuff, I’m not going to write it, I don’t know.

I want to say, as someone who had an extraordinary amount of fun, great passion for what they did, I wound up doing the biggest deal he’s ever done in his life.”

Vince said he would have made this deal if even the scandal didn’t happen last year, because this is the best thing to happen in a long, long time:

“It’s the right time to do the right thing. It’s the next evolution of WWE.”
