Dominik Mysterio, one of WWE’s top heels, recently mocked CM Punk’s disdain for the term “moveset” and reflected on his experiences with the wrestling veteran.

Speaking on the No Contest podcast, Mysterio joked about Punk’s WWE return match against him at a Live Event in December 2023, calling him “an old man trying to do his thing” and poking fun at Punk’s plain attire during their encounter. He expressed gratitude for being trusted by WWE with such a pivotal role in Punk’s comeback but humorously downplayed Punk’s performance.

Dominik also recalled a personal memory of Punk singing “Happy Birthday” to his sister during Punk’s Straight Edge Society days, dismissing it as inconsequential. Confident in his growth as a wrestler, Mysterio stated he’s ready for another match with Punk, taking a jab by sarcastically referencing Punk’s “moveset,” a term Punk recently criticized as “internet wrestling garbage”.

Here’s what Dirty Dom said:

“I had the great dishonor of welcoming Punk back after 10 long years, and, you know, it was everything I expected it to be — just an old man trying to do his thing. He thinks he still has it. I’m pretty sure you guys saw the match. He went out there in some plain black underwear, didn’t even have his gear. It was definitely a sight to see.

Overall, I’m glad the company trusted me to get in there with CM Punk and give him his first couple of punches back as a nice welcome-home gift. But I’d definitely like to have more than just those two matches because the energy we had in there was something special.

I feel like he owes me something too. I don’t know if he remembers, but I’m sure he does — he sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to my sister when I was probably about 12 years old. He cornered my whole family when he had his… what was it? His sh*t, long black hair? Oh yeah, the Straight Edge Society! I barely remember it because, honestly, it doesn’t matter.

But now that I’m my own man, and he doesn’t have to corner me anymore, I’d love to get my hands on him again. Now that I’m prepared and ready, I’ve seen what he can do. It’s nothing special — he does the same things. I’m pretty sure I can read his playbook. Actually, here’s a good one: I know his moveset.”
