Jacob Fatu’s WrestleMania 41 Opponent Revealed

Below are the results from tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown, featuring the debut of Rey Fenix, Jacob Fatu securing his WrestleMania 41 match & more.

– CM Punk kicked off tonight’s SmackDown and thanked the Chicago crowd for supporting him. Punk said the hard work begins now and he will whoop Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 41. Paul Heyman came out and put over Punk, saying he belongs in the main event of WrestleMania. Heyman recalled Punk helping The OG Bloodline at Survivor Series after contemplating retiring after his brutal Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre, and he thanked him for that. Heyman asked Punk what is the favor that he owes him, because Roman is getting angry at him. Punk said Roman isn’t here? Heyman said not yet, because The Tribal Chief is in his training camp right now. Punk said the favor is none of Roman’s business, but since it will affect Roman a little, he wants to tell the favor to Roman face-to-face.

– Rey Fenix def. NXT Tag Team Champion Nathan Frazer in his WWE debut match with a Mexican Muscle Buster

In the post-match interview with Byron Saxton, Fenix thanked the Chicago crowd and said he is WWE.

Santos Escobar was watching this with Los Garza and he was impressed with Fenix’s performance. Berto said Fenix is a flash in the pan. Escobar said he wants Berto to prove he’s better than Fenix. Escobar said he’s going to Nick Aldis to get Rey Fenix vs. Berto booked.

– Drew McIntyre is wearing an eye patch now and wants revenge against Damian Priest for attacking him last week, and getting glass in his eye.

– Braun Strowman said he’s going to defeat Jacob Fatu in a Last Man Standing match tonight and become the #1 Contender for the United States Championship, and then go on to defeat LA Knight at WrestleMania 41 to win the US Title and become Grand Slam Champion. Solo Sikoa and Tama Tonga interrupted and said that’s not going to happen. Knight showed up and Tonga challenged him to a match.

– United States Champion LA Knight def. Tama Tonga

– Backstage, Paul Heyman said whatever the favor is, his answer to CM Punk is yes. Seth Rollins showed up and said Heyman looks awful. Rollins said he wants to hear in person what this favor is going to be.

– Charlotte Flair and WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton came to the ring for an interview with Wade Barrett. Charlotte said she chose Tiffany because Tiffy begged her to. Charlotte wants to show the smart wrestling fans that there is no comparison between them. Tiffany said Charlotte can break all the records, but she’ll always come second to her daddy, Ric Flair. Fans booed Charlotte so much that she couldn’t talk. Tiffany said Charlotte is WWE’s least favorite nepo baby. At the age of 25, Charlotte was a Volleyball player drinking in her father’s basement, while she’s heading into WrestleMania 41 as the WWE Women’s Champion. Tiffany said Charlotte is the “Queen of Sh*t” and after WrestleMania, Charlotte will be left alone, just like in real life, where she has a record of 0-3. Charlotte then said Ludwig Kaiser (Tiffany’s real-life boyfriend) is in her DMs, but Tiffany had already left the ring by then. Charlotte was visibly upset by Tiffany referring to her divorce to Andrade.

– Nick Aldis announced that there will be a Women’s Tag Team Gauntlet Match next week. The winners will face Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez for the Women’s Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 41.

– Pretty Deadly took a shot at The Miz and Carmelo Hayes’ tag team.

– Motor City Machine Guns def. #DIY to become the #1 Contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championship

– Naomi def. B-Fab

Jade Cargill attacked Naomi both before and after the match, which led to Nick Aldis making Cargill vs. Naomi official for WrestleMania 41.

– Damian Priest said Drew McIntyre will be his victim at WrestleMania 41, thus making it official.

– Kevin Owens came out and broke his heel character to announce that he has been dealing with neck issues for the last 4 months and needs surgery, which means he is out of WrestleMania 41. He thanked the fans and left. Randy Orton came out and showed respect to Owens, as Owens left. Nick Aldis then informed Orton that he doesn’t have a match at WrestleMania anymore. Orton hit Aldis with an RKO.

– Jacob Fatu def. Braun Strowman in a Last Man Standing match to become the #1 Contender for the United States Championship

Fatu will now face LA Knight for the United States Championship at WrestleMania 41.

– Roman Reigns came quickly to the ring and told Chicago a secret:

“CM Punk wouldn’t be back here if it wasn’t for me. CM Punk wouldn’t be in the main event of WrestleMania if it wasn’t for me.”

Fans booed Roman at first. Roman said Chicago fans aren’t that smart, but they mean well. Roman said Punk has faced so many legends, but he was never in the main event of WrestleMania until he was introduced to The Tribal Chief. Fans begin chanting OTC and Roman bragged about fans chanting for him in Punk’s city and called him out. Seth Rollins came out instead.

Rollins said Roman doesn’t live in the reality and every time Roman steps out of it, it bites Roman in the a$$. Fans chanted “what’s the favor”. Roman said the reality is Seth isn’t trustworthy and Seth doesn’t know what loyalty is.

CM Punk came out and said he will force Roman out of his comfort zone and deal with “us,” as he revealed that Heyman will be in his corner at WrestleMania 41.

Roman laughed and said even if he let him, Heyman wouldn’t do it. Roman told Heyman to let his desperate fool down easy. Heyman started crying. Roman said he took Heyman in and made him relevant, and to tell Punk no. Heyman said:

“No, my Tribal Chief, I can’t do that.”

Rollins began laughing and Roman cornered Heyman, which led to Punk attacking Reigns from behind and hitting him with a GTS. SmackDown went off the air with Rollins and Punk having a face-off.
