During a recent interview on The Hannibal TV, former WWE undercard talent James Ellsworth revealed that he would love to return to WWE and be involved in a storyline with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley.

Here’s what James said:

“In WWE, I would love to do something with Rhea and Dom just because I think the fans would be entertained by it.

If the Ellsworth character came in, and he’s trying to get with ‘Mami’ Rhea Ripley and Dominik’s getting pi$$ed off.

I think about the fans. I think fans would be entertained by that.”

James Ellsworth wrestled on WWE TV between 2016 & 2018, but was mostly used as a jobber and a comedy act, as well as Carmella’s sidekick.

Fans still remember him, which is why James is still getting quite a lot of bookings for independent wrestling shows.

He made his first WWE appearance on RAW in 2016, where he got squashed by Braun Strowman.

Ellsworth gained some steam when he said the following before facing Strowman:

“Any man with two hands has a fighting chance.”

This resulted in him getting more work in WWE and facing then WWE Champion AJ Styles, and even pinning him on multiple occasions!

During an appearance on the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast in 2022, Ellsworth revealed that there were discussions about him becoming the WWE Champion.

Below is what he said:

“People would come up to me like, ‘Hey, man, in the meetings they’re talking about you winning the Title.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, okay.’ People did say it to me.

Vince McMahon himself never said it to me, but I didn’t pay too much attention to it.

I’m a realist – they’re not gonna put the Title on me, and they shouldn’t.”
