• Jeff Jarrett Reveals Why TNA Failed To Sign Goldberg

Over the years, Dixie Carter’s Total Nonstop Action! (TNA) always had the reputation of signing former WWF/WWE, WCW & ECW Superstars to their roster.

She even had lunch with WCW Legend Bill Goldberg at one point, but – as we all know – Dixie did not end up signing the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion to a contract.

On a recent episode of his weekly ‘My World’ podcast, Jeff Jarrett revealed why nothing came out of it and the negotiation went nowhere.

Here’s what Double J said about TNA trying to sign Goldberg:

“Dixie (Carter) had a lunch with him several years later that I think you could classify on Dixie’s part for sure, substantially. I don’t think on Bill’s part.

Bill made a lot of money in WCW and made a lot of money at WWE. Bill’s a businessman first and foremost. I never viewed any of the conversations with Bill as substantial strictly off of there isn’t enough money for Bill to come.”

Goldberg wrestled for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling from 1997 until 2001, including 1 reign as the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, before working for Vince McMahon’s WWE from 2003 to 2004, also including 1 reign as World Heavyweight Champion.

Bill eventually returned in 2016 and has been used a so called part-timer / special attraction ever since. He ended up capturing the Universal Championship on two occasions.
