• Jerry Jarrett Passes Away

We are saddened to report that legendary wrestling promoter Jerry Jarrett has passed away at the age of 80.

Along with being the father of WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett, he was also a wrestler, and held many NWA Titles.

Dutch Mantell (Zeb Cotler / Uncle Zebekiah) posted the following about Jerry’s death:

“SAD NEWS: I’m hearing reports of my friend and long time booker/promoter Jerry Jarrett died this morning in TN.

I last saw him last year when we did the VICE show THE TERRITORIES in Atlanta. Very creative booker. Condolences to Jeff/Deborah and the Jarrett family.”

On this day in 1988, the World Wrestling Federation aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WWF Wrestling Challenge’.

It was broadcasted from the Wicomico Youth & Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland and featured pre-taped matches, promos & storyline segments on the road to the ‘WWF WrestleMania IV’ event.
