Jerry Lawler Makes His First Public Comments Following His Son Brian Christopher’s Passing

Brian Christopher & Jerry Lawler

As we all know by now, Old School WWF wrestler Brian Christopher passed away on July 29th. He was 46 years old.

Below is a summary of what happened, provided by Memphis Wrestling:

“Brian was rushed to a hospital last night (Saturday, July 28) after he was found hanging in his cell in the Hardeman County jail–where he was being held on DUI charges since early this month. At the hospital, unable to breathe on his own, he was placed on a medical ventilator until this morning (Sunday, July 28). According to Paula Lawler, they kept Brian alive until Jerry could get there to kiss him good bye.”

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler, father of Brian Christopher, has now made his first public comments following his son’s passing.

Lawler told Fox 13 News that he was glad to hold his son’s hand when his heart stopped beating around 3:30 p.m. Lawler also noted that the funeral service will be held on Friday at the Hope Church on Walnut Grove. The service will begin at 2 p.m.

When asked about the ongoing investigation regarding his son’s passing, Lawler said the following:

“There may be more to this than meets the eye”.

TBI has told Lawler not to comment anything regarding the investigation until it is complete.

Brian Christopher was a member of the Too Cool stable in the WWF, which also consisted of Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty.

Below is what Scotty 2 Hotty posted regarding Brian’s passing:

“This is from the last time that the three of us were in the ring together. Brian and I were different people outside of the ring. We never traveled together, never roomed together, and never really hung out together. But, EVERY single time that we went through that curtain, we made magic together. Magic that will never be replaced. We were TOO COOL. I will miss ya BC.”

Below is what Rikishi posted regarding Brian’s passing:

“My uce therealgrandmastersexay our last dance together…. Brian’s living spirit was always his passion for adventure and love for the wrestling business!! What I will carry with me most is the Grandmasta’s infectious smile and wicked laugh but most of all is his passion to entertain each & every person he ever came in contact with.

My condolences and respect goes out to King realjerrylawler brother Kevin Lawler and entire family. I’m sry for our loss.”
