• Old School WWF Veteran Celebrates Her Birthday

Old School WWF Veteran Bull Nakano (Real name: Keiko Nakano) celebrates her 52nd birthday today.

She’s considered a legend in Japanese women’s wrestling and won Championships all around the world.

After having just a few matches on WWF TV in 1986, Bull Nakano joined the full time World Wrestling Federation roster in 1994, where she was managed by famous Women’s Wrestler Luna Vachon.

In November 1994, she defeated Alundra Blayze for the ‘WWF Women’s Championship’ in Tokyo, Japan, but lost it back to her on Monday Night RAW in April 1995.

After wrestling for Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling in 1995 and 1996, she retired from professional wrestling and became a professional golfer in 1998.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BULL NAKANO!

• Jerry Lawler Says AEW Doesn’t Really Care About Memphis Wrestling Legends

All Elite Wrestling will pay tribute to Memphis Wrestling Legends on tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, AEW is doing this because of low ticket sales for next week’s episode of Dynamite:

“So the advance is not good in Memphis. Some of the advances are good, some of them are not good for AEW.

The Memphis advance was weak and they came up with the idea and I think this was Tony Khan’s idea. I think they went with Randy Hales, Randy Hales was contacted and they said: ‘Hey we wanna pay tribute to the Memphis territory.’ It’s like that’s cool — put it on TV.

AEW will be paying tribute to the following names on this upcoming episode of Dynamite:

– Randy Savage

– Angelo Poffo

– Lance Russell

– “Hot Stuff” Eddie & Tommy Gilbert

– Brian Christopher

– Austin Idol

– Dave Brown

– The Rock & Roll Express

– “Handsome” Jimmy Valiant

During a recent interview with Cerrito Live, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler was asked to comment about this tribute and below is what The King said:

“I have talked to some guys and I think they’re gonna have quite a few guys who were well known in Memphis. Dave Brown will be there. I talked to Dave and we have lunch every Thursday. Yeah, he’s gonna be there.

They’re looking to sell some tickets and pop the crowd. I think a tribute to Memphis Wrestling is actually the last thing on their minds. They’re looking to sell some tickets and pop the crowd.”
