Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Jesse Ventura, Triple H, Kevin Owens and Mercedes Mone.

• Jesse “The Body” Ventura has returned to WWE, signing a Legends deal largely to secure his children’s future.

In an interview with the New York Post, the 73-year-old Hall of Famer revealed:

“I did it selfishly for my kids. I want to position it where if anybody makes money off my name, I want my kids to have a piece of it.”

The deal ensures Ventura’s legacy and family will benefit from his storied career as a wrestler and commentator. His comeback includes calling four Saturday Night’s Main Event specials per year.

• After Saturday Night’s Main Event went off the air, Kevin Owens attacked Cody Rhodes, which led to Triple H confronting Owens.

Dr. Chris Featherstone reported the following about HHH getting physical with Owens:

“I was informed that Triple H’s physical involvement following Kevin Owens’s post-match attack on Cody Rhodes at SNME is only to elevate Owens as a heel, and the Cody/Owens feud is slated to continue. A Triple H in-ring return is not in the plans at this time.”

• At Strong Style Evolved, Mercedes Mone defeated Hazuki to retain the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship.

After her win, Mone challenged Mina Shirakawa in a “Title For Title” match at Wrestle Dynasty with the NJPW STRONG Women’s Title & Rev Pro Undisputed British Women’s Title on the line.

If Mercedes goes on to win this match, then she’ll become a triple champion, as she currently holds the AEW TBS Women’s Championship as well.

Mercedes tweeted the following about this upcoming match:

“My dream to wrestle in the Tokyo Dome is about to come true #wrestledynasty”
