Jey Uso shocked the world by winning the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match by eliminating John Cena in the end.
During an interview on The Pat McAfee Show, Jey was asked about the negative reaction to his Royal Rumble victory on social media. Here’s what the former Intercontinental Champion said:
“That’s them, Uce. Like, that’s them, that’s your opinion. You don’t strap my boots every week. You’re not on the road like I am every week. All the bumps, all that side-stepping that nobody sees, all those flights and rental cars — we ain’t traveling with security guards around me. I’m in the trenches like everybody else.
I don’t pay no mind to that, Uce. I don’t need none of that. Focus right here, Uce—tunnel vision. There’s a lot of haters around here, Uce. They talk it because they can’t walk it.
I’m just excited, bro. I’m all on a positive path. I never thought I could be here, Pat. But now I’m here, and I got places to go too.”
On the Nightcap podcast, Jey Uso revealed what John Cena said to him in the ring after the finish:
“He came in the ring, and if you watch it back, he did come in the ring. He came in the ring. After I thought I was about to, damn, do it again — threw his a$$ out one more time.
But he said, ‘Hey man,’ uh, he hugged me. He goes, ‘I remember your first tour. I always told you and your brother you guys will be fine. Be yourself. Look at these people now.’ And that’s when he turned me to the crowd, and, you know, they were just hitting it, man.
So yeah, man, love for John Cena. You know, he’s a GOAT.”
