Hulk Hogan made an appearance at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night. Hogan, taking the stage just before WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump was set to accept the party’s nomination, delivered a highly energetic speech, calling Trump his “hero” and a “gladiator” before tearing off his shirt, much to the delight of the crowd.

This speech followed an assassination attempt on Trump at a Pennsylvania rally less than a week earlier. Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, referenced this incident, expressing his outrage and support for Trump: “What happened last week when they took a shot at my hero and they tried to kill the next President of the United States? Enough is enough.”

In a dramatic gesture, Hogan ripped off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance shirt underneath, symbolizing his decision to become vocal in politics after recent events: “I tried to stay out of politics, but after everything that’s happened to our country over the past 4 years and everything that happened last weekend, I can no longer stay silent,” he declared.

Hogan praised Trump’s resilience, likening him to the toughest opponents he faced in his wrestling career: “Donald Trump is the toughest of them all. They’ve thrown everything at Donald Trump, all the investigations, the impeachments, the court cases, and he’s still standing and kicking their butts.”

Hulk also mentioned 3 WWF Legends during his promo: Andre the Giant, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and The Ultimate Warrior.

Hogan’s participation added a layer of spectacle and nostalgia to the convention, which already featured high-profile speakers such as Linda McMahon and UFC President Dana White.

After Hogan’s speech, former WWE star Eugene aka Nick Dinsmore tweeted:

“Eugene has NEVER been more proud to be a ⁦@HulkHogan⁩ fan! ⁦@realDonaldTrump⁩ #Trumpamaniacs”

Jim Cornette wasn’t happy with Nick’s tweet and ended his relationship with him:

“Nick, ‘Eugene’ is a gimmick. You went to school, you know what an unfit piece of filth you’re endorsing, that means you think there’s something in it for you to advocate for a despicable lying wretch. Please forget you ever knew me, I’ll do the same for you. I’m ashamed of you.”
