• Jim Duggan Issues Statement After Taking Down A Man During Home Invasion

A man in his mid-20s recently broke into the house of WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Duggan at around 6:45 PM on December 8th.

However, the WWF Legend (who will turn 69 next month) tackled the man to the ground and held him at gunpoint.

The man claimed that people from nearby houses were coming to kill him, that’s why he broke in. Duggan did not press any charges.

Duggan issued the following statement about this incident:

“We would like to thank the Kershaw County Sheriff’s Department for their prompt and professional response last week.

A man who we had never seen before climbed our fence, ran through our yard to our front door, and was pounding on our glass doors. Before we could get to the door, he opened it and fell into our house.

I held him at gunpoint while Debra called 911. We are safe with no damage. Thanks to everyone for the concern and well wishes!”

• Old School WWF Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 61st birthday of Old School WWF Veteran The Patriot (Real name: Del Wilkes).

Some of you might remember his World Championship Wrestling stint, where he teamed with Marcus Alexander Bagwell as the tag team ‘Stars and Stripes’ from 1994 to 1995.

The Patriot’s biggest claim to fame was still his run with the World Wrestling Federation in 1997, where he challenged WWF World Heavyweight Champion Bret “The Hitman” Hart for the title at the ‘In Your House 17: Ground Zero’ PPV.

An injury kept him from wrestling as a member of Team USA at Survivor Series 1997, and they let him go in early 1998.

Several years after Del Wilkes retired, his former WWF co-worker “Salvatore Sincere” Tom Brandi started using The Patriot gimmick on the independent scene and falsely claimed that Del gave him permission to use the character, which Wilkes has publicly denied.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & REST IN PEACE
