Below are a couple of pro-wrestling stories involving WWE Hall of Famers Jim Ross and X-Pac:
– Jim Ross and Vince McMahon share a legendary friendship that has stood the test of time. Their bond was forged during Jim’s tenure with Vince’s World Wrestling Federation, later known as WWE. Through the ups and downs of the wrestling world, their partnership extended beyond the business side of things.
During a recent edition of his weekly ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, Ross was asked whether he still considers Vince a friend, after they had a falling out several years ago.
Here’s what J.R. replied:
“Absolutely. Vince did a lot of great things for me. He was very pro-family. He and Jane (Ross’ late wife) had a good relationship. She went to the gym every day, so if you go to the gym at Titan Towers (WWF/WWE headquarters) every day you’re bound to see Vince at some point in time.”
– During a recent interview on ‘Insight’, WWF/WCW Legend Sean Waltman aka X-Pac named his 1993 surprise upset-victory against Razor Ramon as the greatest moment of his career, because that was the match that put him (as The 1-2-3 Kid) on the map.
Here’s what Sean had to say about his win over Razor being his #1 moment:
“There’s no close-second moment that was as important as that one was in my career. Really in my life too, that was so huge it was life-changing, the trajectory of my life changed because of that moment, it was huge. Had so much impact it was a unique way of introducing somebody.
It was after I got the big win I went to Japan for a couple of weeks and did a super junior tournament to finish up my obligations. It wasn’t a great match, he just beat the sh*t out of me, man, and then just slipped on a banana peel with the moonsault, right?”
