• Jinder Mahal Says WWE Almost Avoided Disaster At Live Event In India In 2017
During his Inside The Ropes interview, Jinder Mahal recalled a shocking behind-the-scenes incident from WWE’s 2017 live event in New Delhi, India – one that could have turned disastrous.
According to Mahal, just hours before his highly publicized match against Triple H, WWE officials discovered a giant crack in the building of the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium. The damage was so significant that the company briefly considered canceling the show altogether.
“There was a giant crack in the building,” Jinder revealed. “They almost didn’t have the show because of it.”
Instead, WWE managed to salvage the event by simply not seating anyone in the affected section, ensuring safety while allowing the rest of the crowd to enjoy the show.
Despite the scare, Mahal said the night turned into one of the greatest experiences of his life. The arena was packed, and the atmosphere was electric as Indian fans cheered for their homegrown WWE Champion against one of the all-time greats.
Jinder said it was a night he’ll “never forget.” He called it a highlight of his career and one of Triple H’s last major international matches.

During an interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Dolph Ziggler reflected on his 30-minute Iron Man match with Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, which main evented the Extreme Rules 2018 PPV / PLE – a bout remembered for the crowd repeatedly counting down every minute.
Ziggler said the match was a rare chance for two workhorses to main event a pay-per-view without Roman Reigns involved, something fans had long asked for. But when it finally happened, the audience sabotaged the atmosphere with constant countdown chants.
He explained that WWE removed the on-screen timer to stop it, which only made things worse as fans began counting every 10 seconds instead. “We finally got the main event everyone begged for, and the fans ruined it,” he said.
Ziggler admitted the chants threw off his and Rollins’ rhythm mid-match, calling it one of his most frustrating nights in WWE. Ironically, he said the chaos gave Vince McMahon an excuse to dismiss the idea of mid-carders main eventing again – reinforcing Vince’s belief that fans didn’t know what they wanted.
