Below are a couple of top Royal Rumble 2025 news stories of the day, featuring Joe Hendry, John Cena, and Drew McIntyre.

• TNA World Champion Joe Hendry entered the 2025 Men’s Royal Rumble match and was eliminated by Roman Reigns.

During a backstage interview after the match, Hendry said he’s not done with The Tribal Chief and revealed what John Cena said to him:

“It’s unusual for Joe Hendry to be at a loss for words, but say his name, and he appeared here in Indianapolis at the biggest Royal Rumble of all time.

Roman Reigns, congrats. You threw Joe Hendry over the top, and I’m willing to bet this isn’t the last time that you and I cross paths.

But before I go, I do want to share a little bit of knowledge that was bestowed on me by one John Cena. He gave me four words, and it was, ‘Fortune favors the bold.’ So here I am, boldly saying John Cena’s name.”

• Drew McIntyre was eliminated from the Men’s Royal Rumble by Damian Priest and something went wrong there, according to PWInsider.

After being eliminated, McIntyre was reportedly “screaming and cursing” backstage, frustrated that “someone had to get their moves in” at the expense of multiple storylines in the match.

He then loudly stormed out of the building, leaving well before the match even ended.

In an update, Daily Mail reported that McIntyre was left fuming after his elimination and his frustration was directed at one individual accused of trying to “take centre stage” during the crucial moment of him being eliminated by Priest.

As we noted earlier, Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest is planned for WrestleMania 41.
