• John Cena Denies Carrying WWE On His Back

16-Time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena recently appeared on the Den of Geek podcast, where he was asked about carrying the WWE on his back for more than a decade, basically from about 2005 till around 2016.

However, the Ruthless Aggression Era Legend actually denied it and said that he doesn’t see it that way at all.

Here’s what John Cena had to say:

“No, no, that’s not true. That’s not true. If you think so, watch any wrestling match or WWE performance with one individual. So I don’t believe in that term.

It’s an absolute team effort. And I hate when people say that because it takes the credit away from a lot of talented individuals.

But I think one thing is for certain that if WWE ever asked me to do anything, be it a phone interview or go to a smaller city to promote or go to a larger stage or fly across the world or etc, etc.

For 15 years, my life was a blur that had not much else in it except light blue canvas and ropes. And I love it for that.

And I think now the audience is very understanding that I developed a similar sort of passion towards this. And you can’t be both places at once because one place will suffer or if not, both places will suffer.”

• Old School WWF Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School WCW/WWF Legend “Faarooq” Ron Simmons celebrates his 63rd birthday today. DAMN!

WCW Executive Vice President Bill Watts made him the first-ever black World Heavyweight Champion in 1992, before Simmons joined the World Wrestling Federation in 1996 as Faarooq Asaad.

Faarooq eventually became the leader of the Nation of Domination and later formed a Tag Team with Bradshaw (now known as JBL), called The Acolytes aka The A.P.A.!

In 2012, Simmons was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame by his former Tag Team partner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
