On a recent edition of WWE’s The Bump, Ruthless Aggression Era Legend John Cena made a controversial claim.

Cena praised WWE’s current product and financial state, and even went as far as to state that the company is currently at its best, better than what it was during the Golden Era and the Attitude Era.

Here’s what the former Doctor of Thuganomics had to say:

“There’s never been a better time for WWE than now. With all of the things, from an administrative and business standpoint, that’s going on, from the influx of talent that we have, through the advances in recruiting that we have. We’re gaining the best, we currently field the best and our future is on an upward trajectory.

I say our future because I will always consider myself part of the WWE family. It’s awesome to see. I’ve had thoughts of, what will they do without me? They will go on, and they will be fine. It really is awesome to see WWE better than it was in 2010, better than it was in 2015. It is a better place now than when it was when I was a full-time performer.”

At tonight’s WWE Fastlane premium-live-event, Cena teamed up with LA Knight to defeat Solo Sikoa and Jimmy Uso of The Bloodline.

John Cena made his WWE debut in 2002, answering Kurt Angle’s open challenge on ‘SmackDown!’ and then became an evil rapper towards the end of that year, which eventually made him a big star and turned him back into a babyface in late 2003.

Cena won his first World Title in 2005 when he defeated JBL in the co-main event of WrestleMania 21 to become the new WWE Champion … and the rest – so they say – is history.
