• John Cena Refused To Rap With Released Star In WWE
WWE hasn’t had many wrestlers who made rapping part of their character. The most successful was John Cena, who did it under his Doctor Of Thuganomics gimmick.
Another wrestler who used rapping in his persona was Top Dolla, now known as AJ Francis outside of WWE. He wanted to work with John Cena during his time in WWE, but the 17-time World Champion turned him down.
Speaking on SHAK Wrestling, Francis revealed that he once asked Cena to collaborate with him on a rap, but the legend politely passed.
“He couldn’t rap with me, and he said he would be doing a disservice to himself if he tried. He told me, ‘I wouldn’t be able to hang with you guys.’”
John Cena will battle AJ Styles at Crown Jewel in Perth tomorrow night in what will be the two legends’ final encounter.
• Vince McMahon Wanted Dolph Ziggler’s Kisses To Be “Gross”
On Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, Dolph Ziggler aka Nic Nemeth talked about his infamous on-screen romantic storylines in WWE – including his kisses with AJ Lee, Vickie Guerrero, Lana, Summer Rae, and Maria Kanellis.
He revealed that Vince McMahon specifically wanted the kisses to look “gross” and over-the-top, as part of his character’s cocky, villainous image.
Ziggler said he took Vince’s instruction seriously and went all-in with AJ during live TV segments. The performances were so intense that McMahon later told them to tone it down.
He explained that while fans thought those moments looked fun, they were often awkward and uncomfortable to perform, especially with everyone watching backstage.
Ziggler laughed while recounting that he always made sure his co-stars were comfortable and viewed the scenes as just another part of storytelling.
He added that Vince saw the “gross makeouts” as Ziggler’s reward instead of title wins.
