Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving John Cena and Kazuchika Okada.
• During an interview on ESPN First Take, John Cena was asked to name his top 3 female wrestlers in WWE.
Cena ended up giving 5 names:
“That’s a great question. I’m gonna change the monument, we’ll go top 5. Let’s see… I say Bayley, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and Charlotte Flair. That’s my top 5.”
Also during this interview, Cena got asked the following question:
“Every time you get an opportunity to throw the three piece (suit) on, you’re always ready to go. But the true question is, three piece or jorts?”
In his response, Cena teased an appearance at WrestleMania 40:
“It depends if we’re talking WrestleMania 40, crossing my fingers. I hope the shorts are there. If we’re talking First Take, I will do my best to put on a waistcoat.”
• On tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Young Bucks said Sting & Darby Allin cheated at Revolution. They announced their entry in the Tag Team Title tournament.
Regarding their huge announcements, Matthew Jackson suspended “Hangman” Adam Page from The Elite without pay for putting his hands on two AEW officials at Revolution. He then fired Kenny Omega from The Elite for missing dates for no reason.
Continental Crown Champion Eddie Kingston interrupted them. A brawl broke out and the Bucks took him out.
NJPW Veteran Kazuchika Okada then made his return to AEW TV. He turned heel and took out Kingston. Okada has signed with All Elite Wrestling.
After Okada’s heel turn, WWE RAW Superstar Shinsuke Nakamura made a post on Threads in Japanese, which translates to “Really?”.
For those who don’t know, Triple H began pushing Nakamura last year by giving him World Heavyweight Title matches against Seth Rollins and then a feud against Cody Rhodes in hopes to show Okada that he’d be treated good in WWE. However, Okada decided to sign with AEW.
