• John Cena Thinks Brock Lesnar Will Retire Very Soon, Possible Date
During his interview on Chris Van Vliet’s Insight podcast, John Cena said that he thinks Brock Lesnar will retire from WWE very soon:
“Brock Lesnar is an attraction we’re going to build until he rides off into the sunset, which I think will be in Minnesota, or creatively very soon.”
It should be noted that SummerSlam 2026 will take place at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on August 1 & 2, 2026.
If Cena is right, this could be the event where The Beast could retire. Brock holds the record for the most main events in the history of SummerSlam.
By the time SummerSlam 2026 arrives, Brock Lesnar will be 49 years old.

“Mr. Electricity” Steve Regal passed away this past summer at the age of 73. The news was confirmed this week by PWInsider, months after Regal’s death in July.
Regal, who is a different person from the current wrestling figure William Regal (Darren Matthews), was the son-in-law of wrestling promoter Wilbur Snyder. Regal’s focus on his family was the main reason he decided to leave the national wrestling scene in his mid-thirties.
Regal started his career in the mid-1970s in the Indianapolis area, which was run by Snyder and Dick the Bruiser. He was most famous for his time in the AWA (American Wrestling Association), where he worked off and on for about 10 years. He had a notable feud with Buck Zumhofe over the Light Heavyweight Title, which Regal held for 19 months. Regal also won the AWA Tag Team Titles with Jimmy Garvin in 1985 before leaving the company the next year.
Throughout his career, he traveled widely, winning the Southern Tag Titles in Memphis and the Pacific Northwest Heavyweight title twice in Portland.
In the late 1980s, he had a short run in Jim Crockett Promotions and briefly worked for the WWF as an enhancement talent, where he made $3,500 per week, before retiring from full-time wrestling to spend time with his family. Regal died on July 30, 2025.
