During an interview on Entertainment Tonight, John Cena was asked about reports suggesting that maybe he’s retiring from WWE.

The 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion then said that he’ll retire sometime in the next 3 years:

“That’s not a maybe. That time is gonna come and it’s gonna come soon. I never wanted to go out there for the sake of going out there.

I’m gonna be 47 this year. I feel great. I want to have the same passion as the fanbase and give them exactly what they give me.

The miles on this odometer say, ‘Hey, that’s gotta be done before 50’.”

Later during an interview on BBC’s The One Show, Cena noted that he wants his final match at The O2 Arena in London:

“Fans in the UK, WWE fans, they’re the best & fans in London specifically they will let you know how they feel & I don’t think I’ll be able to choose my opponent but if I could choose a venue it’d be the O2 in London.”

Cena’s last match took place at the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 premium live event in Saudi Arabia, where he lost to Solo Sikoa of The Bloodline.

The WWE Legend hasn’t won a televised singles match in almost 6 years. His last televised singles match victory came against Triple H at the Greatest Royal Rumble 2018 PLE.
