Below are some top news stories of the day, involving John Cena and All Elite Wrestling.
• John Cena is a 16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion. During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Cena was asked which one of these World Title wins is his favorite.
Here’s what Cena said:
“My next one. I have often said that the time is coming for me to hang them up and I’m not lying when I say, but it’s not tomorrow. It’s probably soon but not tomorrow, so you never know.”
Cena has noted in recent interviews that he’ll retire from WWE by the time he’s 50 years old, which means he has 3 more years left as an in-ring performer.
• Two wrestlers made their return to AEW programming at Sunday’s Revolution 2024 PPV – PAC (fka Neville in WWE) and Kyle O’Reilly.
On the Zero Hour pre-show, a vignette aired for PAC, where he said the following:
“You’ll never get rid of me Tony Khan. I’m like a cockroach. An indestructible little bastard.”
On the main PPV show, Kyle showed up after Roderick Strong won the AEW International Championship. He hugged Strong, said something in Strong’s ear and left.
Sean Ross Sapp reported the following about these two returns:
“There was a real fear in AEW that they may never get Kyle O’Reilly and PAC back in the ring at times, and both are back now.”
Kyle was away from AEW due to spinal fusion and C5 palsy. He was dealing with a rare condition where he lost all capabilities to use his right arm.
PAC, on the other hand, was dealing with an injury.
