• John Cena’s Father Reveals What He Texted His Son After AJ Styles Match

During an interview with SK Wrestling, John Cena Sr. opened up about his son’s recent match against AJ Styles at WWE Crown Jewel 2025, calling it one of the best bouts in recent years and a true example of professional wrestling done right.

Cena Sr. praised both men for their flawless chemistry and storytelling, saying the match should be studied by every young wrestler trying to understand ring psychology.

“They worked so well together. They read the crowd, they listened, and they delivered exactly what the fans wanted,” Cena Sr. said. “That’s how it’s supposed to be done.”

While he called it a phenomenal performance, Cena Sr. also criticized WWE’s lack of proper buildup for the match. He said the storyline leading into the encounter was weak compared to the level of talent involved. “It was a very poor buildup to what I consider a phenomenal match,” he remarked.

After the match, Cena Sr. revealed he immediately texted his son to tell him how proud he was.

“I wrote, ‘Kid, you still got it,’” he said. “John texted back and said, ‘I’m glad you enjoyed it, Dad. It was a lot of fun.’”

Cena Sr. also expressed admiration for AJ Styles, noting that the former WWE Champion plans to retire next year – something he believes will be “another sad day for wrestling.” He praised Styles as one of the few remaining wrestlers who truly understand in-ring storytelling and psychology.

The proud father went on to talk about his son’s mindset as he transitioned away from full-time competition. He said John had always been honest about knowing when to step away.

“He told me, ‘When I can’t go the way I used to and give the fans what I used to, then it’s time to think about retiring.’”

According to Cena Sr., that philosophy has guided his son’s gradual move to Hollywood while still maintaining a deep respect for WWE. “There’s life after wrestling, and John always knew that,” he said. “But no matter what he does, he’s never forgotten where he came from.”

• WWE Veteran Says Triple H Is Still An Attention Wh*re

Former WWE wrestler Stevie Richards didn’t hold back when discussing Triple H’s growing presence across WWE programming, calling him an “attention wh*re” who just can’t help putting himself in the spotlight.

On his show, Richards ripped into WWE’s new WrestleMania 42 promo, where Triple H both voiced the commercial and appeared front and center in its visuals. Richards mocked the move as another example of The Game promoting himself instead of the product, joking that the entire presentation looked more like a Triple H tribute video than a WrestleMania teaser.

He also compared Triple H’s self-insertion to UFC’s Dana White, saying that while White is a loud and controversial figure, he at least doesn’t plaster his face across fight posters. Richards said Triple H, on the other hand, “wants to be the show, not just run it.”

The ECW veteran added that it’s become almost a running joke to spot Triple H’s fingerprints on every major WWE production. “He’s doing the voiceovers, he’s the first face you see at every pay-per-view, and he’s always in the posters,” Richards said, laughing that WWE fans could play ‘Where’s Waldo?’ with him at this point.

Richards went on to suggest that Triple H’s constant visibility might not even be entirely his own doing – hinting that people backstage could be feeding his ego to stay in his good graces. “It might be the people around him pushing it, wanting to be politically favored,” he said. “Either way, the guy’s everywhere.”
