On last week’s episode of SmackDown, John Cena appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect. Waller said Cena doesn’t want to be a wrestler anymore. Jimmy Uso then came out and said nobody wants Cena here and that the fans came to see him.

Solo Sikoa came out and had a face-off with Cena. Solo then grabbed Jimmy and went for the Samoan Spike, but changed his mind and superkicked Cena. Solo & Jimmy began beating up Cena, which led to AJ Styles making the save.

SmackDown ended with Cena and Styles sending Solo & Jimmy out of the ring.

According to PWInsider, Cena will team up with Styles to take on Solo & Jimmy on tonight’s SmackDown. This match took place in the dark main event after last week’s SmackDown went off the air, where the babyfaces picked up the win.

This will be Cena’s first TV match since the December 30th 2022 episode of SmackDown, where he teamed up with Kevin Owens to defeat The Bloodline (Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns & Sami Zayn).

So far, the following two matches have been officially announced by WWE for tonight’s SmackDown:

– IYO SKY (c) vs. Asuka for the WWE Women’s Championship

– The LWO (United States Champion Rey Mysterio & Santos Escobar) vs. The Street Profits (with Bobby Lashley)
