Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving John Laurinaitis and Bad Blood.
• John Laurinaitis made several notable mistakes during his time as a WWE producer and executive.
In 2003, he nearly hired the wrong one-legged wrestler, Steve Chamberland, instead of Zach Gowen. He also allowed Bob Orton Jr. to bleed in a match involving The Undertaker despite knowing Orton had Hepatitis C and convinced Brock Lesnar to attempt a dangerous Shooting Star Press at WrestleMania 19, which almost resulted in a serious injury.
In an interview with Chris Van Vliet, Batista revealed that Laurinaitis wanted to fire him during his time in WWE’s developmental territory, OVW. Had that happened, WWE would have missed out on one of the biggest stars of the Ruthless Aggression Era, a man who went on to become a 6-time World Champion and a 2-time WrestleMania main eventer.
Here’s what The Animal said:
“You know, a lot of people didn’t believe in me. Even when I was in developmental camp down in OVW, there were people with the WWE and John Laurinaitis who wanted to fire me, but I just kept digging in and digging in and digging in and digging in until I finally got my real first opportunity with Evolution.
And I had access to Triple H and Ric Flair, I mean, two of the greatest professional wrestlers ever. And I wasn’t going to blow my shot, man.”

• Seth Rollins has been absent from WWE programming since being attacked by Bronson Reed on the RAW after SummerSlam 2024.
Despite not appearing on TV, Rollins is seemingly advertised for the upcoming Bad Blood premium live event on October 5th.
A promotional poster for the event, featured in WWE’s Priority Pass advertisement, includes Rollins, hinting at his possible return. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding his involvement in the event.
This has begun speculation that Rollins could interfere in the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre Hell in a Cell match, since Rollins has unfinished business with Punk.
