Justin Barrasso Claims Vince McMahon Is “Strongly” Considering Rey Mysterio To Get A Title Match At WrestleMania 34

Rey Mysterio Unmasked

Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, who has delivered multiple false reports in the past including John Cena facing Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 34, is now claiming that Vince McMahon is “strongly” considering Rey Mysterio as Braun Strowman’s tag team partner in the Raw Tag Team Title match at WrestleMania 34 (if he’s healthy).

Below is what Barrasso reported:

“Rey Mysterio did not wrestle at this past Sunday’s New Japan show due to his bicep injury. If Mysterio is healthy, he is expected to work WrestleMania.

Permitting Mysterio can work, two sources close to WWE confirmed that Vince McMahon is strongly considering using Mysterio as Braun Strowman’s tag team partner against Cesaro and Sheamus.

The idea of the biggest and smallest working together is right in McMahon’s wheelhouse. If Mysterio only works a short-term deal, the partnership also works as he can take the pinfall instead of Strowman.

If Mysterio returns to WWE for WrestleMania, it is currently expected to be a short-term deal.”

It should be noted that this story will most likely turn out to be false, just like most of his other stories.

On the other hand, we posted a story yesterday regarding how there’s a possibility that Alexa Bliss could turn out to be Strowman’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 34.

According to DirtySheets.Net, WWE is planning to release merchandise for Mixed Match Challenge team “Little Big” (Braun Strowman & Alexa Bliss) despite the team being eliminated from the tournament.

WWE officials also had Strowman & Bliss film an episode of Ride Along, which will air after WrestleMania 34.

WWE is also planning to release Mattel figures of Mixed Match Challenge teams, and one of these teams is Team Little Big.

This could be a possible indication that Alexa Bliss could be revealed as Strowman’s tag team partner at WrestleMania 34 (but this would only be done after Bliss drops the Raw Women’s Title to Nia Jax earlier in the night).

It should be noted that Strowman’s tag team partner isn’t expected to be someone who would be seen as a credible partner (like a returning Samoa Joe or Big Cass), as the plan is for Strowman to win the match all by himself and pose with both the Titles.

If Alexa ends up being Strowman’s tag team partner, then we might even see them kiss (which they had teased recently, but couldn’t do).
