• Kenny Omega Comments On Jade Cargill Using His Finisher At WrestleMania 42, Cargill Reacts

WrestleMania 42 – Night 2 featured Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship, with Ripley coming out on top.

During the match, Cargill hit Ripley with the One Winged Angel, which Mami kicked out of. The move is AEW star Kenny Omega’s finisher and is highly protected, making it a point of discussion after the match as Cargill was unable to put Ripley away with it.

Omega later took to X to react to the moment, saying he had no issue with the move being used and viewed it as a compliment.

When I see the moves I do elsewhere, I only take it as a compliment. If somehow I inspired people to use them, I can only be grateful.

Besides, seeing the OWA on the WM ring was kinda neat, right? It’s all good with me!”

Cargill then replied the following to his tweet:

“Thank you 🐐🐐🐐”

• SmackDown Tradition May Be Coming To An End After WrestleMania 42

Sami Zayn dethroned Solo Sikoa as United States Champion last summer and brought back the US Title Open Challenge. The tradition was then carried on by Ilja Dragunov after he won the title from Zayn, before Carmelo Hayes kept it alive following his own title victory.

However, that ongoing tradition may now be in jeopardy after Trick Williams defeated Zayn on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 to capture the championship.

Speaking on ESPN SportsCenter, Williams spoke about his successful WrestleMania debut and hinted that he may move away from weekly open challenges going forward.

“I’m a superstar and I wear that very seriously, so I don’t know about these free matches every single Friday night. When the people see Trick Williams, it’s gonna be in a main event. It’s gonna be a show when I defend this title.”
